The Birth of My Debut Poetry Album
Today, I release something deeply sacred into the world —
my debut poetry album, A Rebel Is Born.
This is more than an album.
It’s a Spanglish love letter to my roots, my truth, and the Rebel I’ve grown into — piece by piece, poem by poem, tear by tear.
A Journey of Healing
Creating this album has been one of the most cathartic and healing experiences of my life.
I didn’t expect to cry the way I did —
but the tears came.
In the studio.
In between takes.
After hearing my own voice speak the truths I’ve carried in silence.
I poured everything into these four poems.
Each one carries a part of my story — from ancestral echoes to personal reclamation.
Through rhythm and ritual, I walked with my ancestors and uncovered parts of myself I didn’t know were waiting to be healed.
Honoring My Inner Child
This album is an ode to my inner child —
the little girl who grew up between worlds,
who danced in two languages,
who never quite fit the mold,
but dreamed of using her voice to move mountains.
And today, I honor her.
I see her.
And I am so incredibly proud to be the woman she would be proud to become.

Why I Created This
A Rebel Is Born is a reflection of my Colombian roots —
of loud family gatherings, dancing to salsa, learning classic lyrics by heart,
and sitting at the feet of my Mita, soaking in the stories of her legendary life.
It’s a soft scream.
A strong prayer.
A becoming.
It’s how I became Rebel Poet —
Diosa de Amor. Mujer Divina. Alma del Universo.
For the Misfits, the Bridge-Walkers, the Truth Tellers
To all the artists and souls like me —
those who’ve lived between cultures,
who’ve never quite belonged,
who’ve had to translate themselves just to be heard —
This album is for you.
